As part of my last blog post about goals, not resolutions, today is the first day of taking the Blog Everyday Challenge. Here is today's topic:
Resolutions!
What is your resolution for 2011? Do you often make a resolution and not keep it? What is the longest you have kept a New Years resolution? What is your most often chosen New Years resolution? What do you think about New Years resolutions?
I already wrote about my goals for the year (referenced in the first link above), but in answer to a couple of questions, I always make resolutions and then don't keep them. This is why I decided on goals for this year instead.
Of course I always choose the weight-loss resolution each year. Sometimes it works; most times it doesn't. I think it's because I put too much pressure on myself to try to be as thin as I was back when I was a teenager. I've finally realized that after having three kids and being in my 40s, that just can't happen. So I'm setting a reasonable goal this time, and hopefully that will work.
I have nothing against resolutions; they just don't work for me.
Onto some exciting stuff to start my year!
I am a book reviewer for two different online horror sites, and my first reviews for each site debuted today! Here are the links:
Disaster Park by Mark Konkel, reviewed on Rise Reviews.
Alice on the Shelf by Bill Gauthier, reviewed on The Bag and the Crow.
Still waiting to hear on a submission to the monthly Necon e-books flash fiction contest, and waiting for a link to be posted to the latest issue of an online magazine I have a story appearing in and also another review.
Great start to 2011!
